Post #10 English Language Challenges

My experience with learning at the university has been very difficult for me,
from childhood has been difficult. Maybe because always I felt displeased
a little of shame for example when I had to talk in english at the school
now a little less. 
Before I could not go to english classes, I worked to that time.
This year I learned several things writing the blogs, I learned words, grammar,
to express of manner more easy what I mean.
Also I believe is good of use of the blogs because help to read and understand.
in this case of speak and listen in english I it costs me a lot, because I do not practice enough, then what I have learned, I forget it fast.
I plan to improve this by watching TV series in English and without subtitles also listening to music in english and singing.
I have few possibilities to practice English in everyday life, only I only know a pair of people who speak English but lately I have been visiting a friend who comes from USA and I have practiced with him a pair sometimes. 
I would like to learn english without the pressure of failing a subject is a little stressful I think that not help. 
Also I am going to go over the subject again of past years. I have forgotten

several things and others I confuse.

Post #9 Changes to study programme


It is an interesting topic to write. Here in the school currently we are in process of change of the study programme, only remain a pair of year for that
begin with the new programme that I believe is ever time more precarious.
I would like that the programme is directed to the visual arts in this moment
is very disorganized, try to teach many things, that are not  necessary for make or teach an artist visual.
I would change some things, for example: reinstate drawing in fourth year is a subject essential. Also I believe that is necessary unite subject workshops and teoryc subjects. the teory of art should be teach in the workshops.
Also is necessary improve the teacher staff, this is worsened. the renovation is is not apropiated. Some teachers do not have knowledge necessarys to teach art in the university.
I would like that also improve the infrastructrure and technology of the workshops.
Also would be good separate the school of art of the school of trades, for example: ceramics and glodsmithings.
I believe would that be good include a subject of composicion in first year,
because is evident that the most of the students not manage the composition.
The ultimate year of career improve the workshop of artistic creation, this should have a better tracking of the work of each student.
Finally eliminate the degree, this generates a false belief that art is a professional career.

Post # 8 Summer Holidays

In my next summer holidays, I would like go to anyplace hahaha, a long time ago
that I don't go out. maybe go to the beach or the south of Chile, I don't know to anyplace.

In true I have gone to someplaces in the previous years but only for a couple of dyas but I don't know if this classify as "summer Holidays"

The next year I am planing to go to the south to the house of my great uncle his name is Ancelmo. He lives in Huilio in the country is near of Temuco.

I would like to go to see my family from the south, also to eat roast, take chicha
of apple, eat naturals potatoes and tomatoes of the field, without weird things.

Also I would like to learn to speak mapudungun, I speak a litle but very bad
is really difficult to learn without speaking with the people. I think that is more easy to learn there with them.

Also I want to see the river that across Huilio is very small but is beautiful and good to cool off in the summer.

I would like to record some interviews to people from the Huilio, old people
for that they relate their history and later work with their storiess in the visual arts.

 Also I would like to go there, because many of them now are old people and maybe, in some years they will not be here.

Post # 7 My favourite Picture of me

Difficult to choose one ... I like many, but not for my appearance, I like the people who are with me in the pictures.
This is one. I like because I am with my cousins on the beach, enjoying the summer. I not know where we are exactly, I not remember, but I like very much the place. I imagine it is the central coast, maybe it is Cartagena or something near there. Almost every year my family went to one of those beaches, because it was good, nice and cheap.
This picture was take, I believe more less in 1989 or 1990, I was about 6 or 7 years old, a long time ago. When I was a kid, I did not like being photographed, for this I look angry in the picture.
In the picture from left to right: my cousin Richi, I, Carolina a cousin and Yoyi another cousin. 
This picture brings me very beautiful memories, of very long summers, just think about playing, delicious foods of my grandmathe, very good times!
I remember that we traveled, in a van of my grandfather. we were about fifteen peoples; imagine how tight we were jajajjaja.
When I see this picture, make me want to go to vacation with my family; also to know and to cross new places and have new experiences.

what good memories! But the idea is to create new experiences.

Blog session  6 Post-graduate studies.

I would like study master in visual art at Universidad de Chile the next year

and later some studies that have relation with education. Before I studied 

Pedagogy in art at Universidad de Playa Ancha in Valparaiso, but for lack of money I could not continue studying and I really like that.

I like the subjects of creation, history and theory, also something of writing, all this in the case of master in art.

In the case of something related with education, I would like to study subjects of

learning difficulties and learning assessment. This for my is very important, in
arts is very difficult to know what and how to learn, because it is difficult to measure. In the schools of art the academics is artists some very good but almost none have studied something related to teaching, this affects in the learning of the students.

I would like to study in a system  part-time course, because I have to keep working in others proyects and to live.

In a some moment I would like go to study outside but for the moment in Chile

is more cheap jajaja and also I have desire to continue working in something

related with popular education and autogestion.

 

 

Post 5 My Future Job

The Job is always a complicated topic for the artist (more for his family).
The job of an artist is his work but this is very difficult to live.
I worked during my studies in the university, in some works with teachers of the school
of art. I (did for them) was doing for them, things that require much effort or time. I was
cheap labor jajajaja. They were designing work on computer (photoshop), sanding, painting, solder, etc...
I also did some workshops in schools, in these jobs pay few. Later I started to mount works of others artist. While I was working on my work.
Now I work in a space of art named "La Palmilla Oriente" is a space independent that exhibit works of local, emerging and renowned artist. There are also workshops for the community.
In this place I have very much job, but is interesting and I like, sometimes is difficult to work in team, but I learn of my team mate.
In the future I want to continue with this project. For next year, we are planning new exhibitions
and a publication of the exhibitions of 2016 and 2017.

Post 1. A Country I'd Like to visit

  

I would like to visit Mexico. Since I was a kid and I saw "El chavo del ocho" and "Cantinflas" catches me atention mexico and his culture. Also I like his indian side. I would like see the buildings of the oldest cultures, such as: mayas, zapotecas, toltecas.

I know mexico have many museums of different types: art, history, sciences, etc...
In the DF, capital of mexico I would like see the murals at UNAM. These murals were painted by big artist between these David Alfaro Siqueiros, Diego Rivera, Jose Chávez. Other place I would visit is the Palace of Fine Arts, it is a very large and eclectic building. It has a very good collection of art.
Also I would like traveller across the towns and citys small. I think in those places you can better see the culture of each country.

I would go to see different places in Mexico, but surely take advantage of work (drawing, painting, archive during the trip) and I would like to exhibit in mexico some of my work.

Post "Favourite song or music album"

My favourite album is Gling Gló by Björk released in 1990, is an álbum that mix music folck with jazz.
Björk is a singer of Iceland, she is a very special artist, she studied classic music,
and she graduated as pianist. Since her childhood, Björk stood out among everyone else for her talent. At the twelve years published his first album named "Björk".
I remember that when listened Gling Gló the first time, this was very different and entertaining,. the disc have many very good songs such as: "Bílavísur",
"Það sést ekki sætari mey" and " Í dansi með þér" only for name some.
In this album Björk was accompanied by three jazz musicians, (pianist, drummer, bassist), they are very talented.
This album was hard find in Chile when it was released; in these times (without internet) you have to buy the discs. I knew this record the year 94 or 95 after the disc "Debut" of bjork, also a big album.
I bought the disc in persa Bio-bio.

The best concert I went, is one of the Fabulosos Cadillacs, 2010 I think. It was at Club Hipico in Santiago. I went with a friend and my cousin. This concert was the return of  Los Cadillacs after their separation. This was a highly anticipated concert. Los Cadillacs are a Argentina band hat was born in the 80s and play rock music mixed with ska. S   ome of his songs are about failed love affairs and other political.Is my favourite band.
At that concert had many people, some 70,000, allmost all in court. We were very near the stage, about 25 meters. Before of Cadillacs, played Chico Trujillo and Los Tres. They are good bands but everyone expected to Los Fabulosos Cadillacs.
During the concert they played many classic songs, some new versions. Several of my favorite as the fifth anniversary, carmela, strawberry fields forever.
It was a great concert, now this year they played again, I already have my tickets!!!

Blog 3 Favourite Artist

I have not a favourite artist but I like the work of Dittborn.
Eugenio Dittborn Santa Cruz is a Chilean artist
He was born in nineteen forty three in Santiago, Chile
He studied art at Universidad de Chile, where he studied painting, drawing and engraving.
His work is caractherized by used the wide possibilities of the engraving and the graphic:
serigraph, photographic print....
He uses images coming from different places and times: police images, books, archives, images of the media. Then Dittborn takes and moves these images to the art.

He is a contemporary artist, his work is very important in the Chilean art.
My favourite work is the airmails paintings, this is one of them.

 

Here Dittborn mixes some images from magazines of different types and other from books about artists and incorporates texts the works.
The art today is not necessary that represents a particular idea or that represents things, I think that this have to search establish relations between differents things.
I remember a few years ago in the museum saw some works and liked by the origin of their images, mixing and by size.

About two years ago, we were without classes for internal problems in the faculty. One of those days a friend had an exposition at Santa Cruz, it was her first exposition and was an important day for her. Obviously she waited that I was there with her, however the problem was that I don't like traveling alone.

 I had decided doesn't go, until that i arrived at the university and I said to my friends about the exposition. Nobody planned to travel that day, but it was funny. We just took the few things that we had by hand and went to bus terminal. We had taken two buses, and traveled a lot of hours, but we arrived before that the inauguration of the exposition was ended. That night we stayed in my friend's house, and the next day, we went to know the town.

In the evening we went to visit the museum. The museum was very big, and had a lot of kind of things, since a piece of arts until animal's fossils, even was there a room dedicated to the 33 miners.

In the museum you can't take photographies. A guard of the museum scolded to my friend a lot of times cause she wanted take a picture, and even threatened her with throwing her out of the museum. But my other friend, don't had respect for the instructions of the museum, even she crossed the red line of the museum and took a picture with a huge dino's fossil. It was so funny.

This semester I study about the file in the visual arts. (I only had to take English jajjaja) I like this because it combines theory and practice, besides that I like collecting things. I think it's a good way to analyze our time from memory.

I was reading a book I found called art and archive 1920-2010, written by ana maria wuash. this book helped me to see many artists who worked during that period with the file in the arts. besides crossing with my vision of what the file and the visual arts.

2014 I take a course file in the U, this course helped me to understand some things and work something that is not much developed in other workshops.

this year I did an exhibition of this work. a file about La Palmilla neighborhood  in conchali. Besides other works in silkscreen that emerged from the file.

I think that is good the system of blogs, but would be better mixing with more conversation in class and more listening because is what it is harder for me.
My skills are much better than before. Now I know more words and I can write some things  more clearly. I also improved in reading and I learned to use better wordreference and my blog jaja.

In the future may include more linked to the visual arts subjects.
Make a portfolio of our work and analysis work, discuss these works, show them in classes.


I also think it would be good also read some texts in English, comment, discuss.
Finally converse with english speakers.

I can not think of anything else jajajajaja.

A page that I constantly use is Memoriachilena.cl; this is a page by Biblioteca Nacional de Chile. I recommend this page because has lot information about
Chile in many topics, as: history, personages, architecture, territory, literature, art, etc...
This information is available in different forms: video, maps, audios, drawing, letters, newspaper, photo and some more.

Also is very easy to use, the page has an interface very friendly with people
of different ages.

Another interesting thing or helpful, is that can download information, in a good quality and free. 
Also continually up information related to current news for example Copa América. 

The page has a section called specials where deppens on a topic, this section is very popular because it has very interesting topics.

Memoriachilena.cl has 12 years of existence.
I visited this website about five years ago, while I searching information about 
Pablo de Rokha.

UFO's

I remember that when I was a kid, I dreamt I saw crossing a UFO on my roof, but this never happened. Until one day I saw a UFO's when I was in the north of Chile, but it was not as I expected, this was a few boring, I could only see a some small points on the sky that moved very fast. Only that.
Still I wait for see a big flying saucer with many ligths as in the films or in "el chapulin colorado". I believe that saw many T.V. jajajajjaa
I remember a news very strange of the nineties, on a hill appeir a ligth (during the night). The priest of the local church say that "the light was God" but on a flying saucer. the people of town dreams that they was abducted and that they get to heaven. the news appeared in "La Cuarta" during various days. Many people travelled to the town for are abducted...

Autobiography

I was born on august 30th 1983 in the city Santiago. I was raised with my grandfather. I studied during the primary school in Conchalí, at El Carmén school. Later in the secundary I studied in the Liceo de Aplicación in Santiago.
Then I enter to study pedagogy art at the Universidad de Playa Ancha in Valparaíso. I studied almost three years.
In 2011 come back to study, I enter to study art at the Universidad de Chile.
Now I am ending my career and writing my tesis.
My Family is large I have many brothers, cousins, uncles, aunts...
My mother lives in Calama with some of my brothers.
Most of my family lives in Huilio and Temuco in the south of Chile.
I have some hobbies. I like collecting old photographies of people from my neighborhood and of my family.

Music

I like different kinds of music like rock, ska, boleros, tango, cumbia,hip hop, folk, etc... except the reggeaton jajja, because they have bad lyrics and very repetitive rhythm.
I prefer listening than playing music, because it is difficult to me to coordinate.
I have many  favourite bands and singers, for example Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Sandro, Zalo Reyes, Björk, Viking 5, and others.
I do not believe that exist a biggest band in the world, I think that there are many good bands and singers.
The music has always accompanied me. In my childhood, while my grandmother cooked, all the time she listened to boleros and chilean folk music; now that I ate with she every days her music stayed in my head.

This tango is one of my favourite songs, in my house it was listened very often.

Why did I choose this career?

 I chose study art, because from my childhood I like paint and draw. My family also stimulated me much. They bought me pencils, papers and paintings, sometimes we went to the museum. I believe that these things help me.
 when I went at the school always went drawing and luckily my teachers and classmates also stimulate me.
 I believe that be curious help me to learn and experiment with different materials in the drawing.
 Besides the fact that I don't have attention in study other things as mathematics or science.
 When I went in Secundary, I begin to read books of art and to go to see exhibitions in the museum alone.
 Then I make a decision study Pedagogy in arts because also I liked teach.
I can't finish the career because I don't have money.
Then some years I can come back to study and I joined to study art.

 A place that I love is persa Bio-bio at neighborhood Franklin, because is
very interesting area with many places to see, buy, eat and learn. This place is at south of Santiago. It is an old neighborhood where factories of different types were formerly located. Since my childhood  I go to walk to the persa. Sometimes I have found  very cheap things and in a good state.
